BARRY: The Good Neighbours Drop-in Café in Barry Church Hall next opens its doors on Wednesday.

Tea, coffee and biscuits are served from 10-11.30am.

There will be books, home baking and Traidcraft stalls.

FORFAR: A charity shop in aid of Lippen Care’s Strathmore Hospice takes place at the Masonic Hall, Coutties Wynd, on Thursday from 12-4pm, Friday from 10am to 4pm, and Saturday from 10am to 3pm.

ARBROATH: St Vigeans Church is hosting a fundraiser – an evening of music with Wayne Robertson and Claire Telford – in the church on Friday at 7.30pm.

KIRRIEMUIR: Bill Petrie of Liebig Technology gave a presentati­on on plant nutrition to Kirriemuir Probus Club.

Starting with a brief history of the pioneers in this field, he went on to describe the elements necessary for healthy plant growth and their effects on food production. Bruce Barker gave the vote of thanks.

The next meeting is on March 20 when Jim Gibb will talk on the Battle of Tsushima.
