Kiltie wants Pars to build on recent good form

-

Greg Kiltie scored the goals that stopped Morton from going down last season – today he heads back hoping to prove Dunfermline are on the up.

The Kilmarnock winger spent the second half of last term on loan at Cappielow and netted five times in six games towards the end of the campaign as the Greenock outfit battled for Championship safety.

In the end, Ton finished fifth, as close to the promotion play-offs as relegation.

Having joined Dunfermline on loan in the summer, the 22-year-old is now looking for the Pars to build on the four points they have taken from their last two games.

He said: “I loved my time at Morton, towards the end of the season anyway. When I first went it was a total battle and everyone was talking about how Morton could get relegated.

“We finished fifth and we weren’t too far off the play-offs.

“If the league had had an extra month or two, I think we would have been looking up the way.

“I got five in six towards the end of the season. I was delighted with that.

“That included a penalty here at Dunfermline – I got reminded about that by one of the fans at the golf day last Sunday.

“I just enjoyed playing and every time I went out on to the pitch I felt as if I was going to score.

“So hopefully I’ll get that feeling back soon. I scored in my first game with Dunfermline but I just want to kick on and start adding goals as well.

“I’ve played the last few games and I’m just getting back to match fitness and stuff.

“Seeing your name on the team-sheet every week is a good sign.”

Kiltie knows how much a heavy defeat at Dundee United will have hurt his old club but the former Scotland Under-19 internationalist has only one aim for his return this afternoon.

He added: “They’ll be looking to bounce back from that result but you never know how it’s going to go.

“We want to stay unbeaten but we want to get some wins on the board as well and start climbing the league.”
