Grove blow chance to lead Premiershi­p after late goal

Grove Menzieshil­l have lost the chance to retain their lead at the top of the Premiershi­p after suffering a 4-3 defeat at Uddingston.

A goal each by Luke Cranney, Alex Blaikie and Cyril Varghese kept the Dundee side in the game but they were undone by a late strike.

Dundee Wanderers have still to pick up their first point after losing a late goal to Edinburgh University in a 5-4 defeat.

Wanderers goals came from Frank Mulgrew (2), Bobby Ralph and Elliot Sandison.

Perthshire are third in division 2 after their remarkable 12-0 win over Aberdeen Grammar.

Michael Robertson hit five, Stephen Dick grabbed four and Adi Moffat, Mark Gorrie and Neil Robertson were also on the mark.

Inverleith and Dunfermlin­e Carnegie lead the way as they hold a five-point lead over Perthshire.
