KIRRIEMUIR. Members held a 100th birthday party. President Chris Horrocks welcomed national chairman Linda Retson, federation chairman Maureen Macleod, federation secretary Valona Gouck, H and H convener Elma Dickens and May Kidd, ex-world president of ACWW, as well as present and former members and representa­tives from Airlie, Cortachy, Memus, Northmuir, Padanaram and Westmuir. Linda Retson and Chris Horrocks cut the cake made by Ruth Fraser and decorated by Chris. Grace was said by May Kidd before a meal provided by Alison Beattie, president of Lunanhead rural, and her helpers. Northmuir WRI choir entertaine­d, accompanie­d by Nancy Davidson. Pat Paterson, Kay Dorward and Janet Murray also contribute­d. Charlotte Brown proposed thanks.

DRUMGEITH. President Sharon Ham introduced Felix Marquez of Craigie Farm, Leuchars, who spoke about planting spring bulbs for garden and pot displays. CORTACHY. President Susan Mclaren welcomed Shona Young of Nutscene, a local business exporting throughout the world. Its core product is jute twine. Moira Ronan proposed thanks. COLLISTON. Irene Duncan gave a talk on Radio Lollipop which provides a radio service to the children’s ward in Ninewells Hospital.
