Newburgh maintained their position at the top of the Premier League South with a 3-2 win at new boys Syngenta.

There may have been a biblical amount of rain in the area but the pitch at Colony Park was in excellent condition for the visit of Montrose Roselea.

Injury-hit Roselea were without Tom Dalgarno, Joe Aitken, Murray Soutar, Steven Smith and Connor Mitchell, so drafted in two trialists, Jordon Hay and Fraser Jamieson.

A first-half double from Ross Mitchell on seven and 42 minutes saw Roselea lead 2-0 at the break and Conlan Robertson effectively put the game to bed when he added a third 10 minutes after the break to complete a straightforward victory.
