Former Kelty striker downs Hill of Beath

-

Hill of Beath Hawthorn travelled to Newtown Park to face East of Scotland League Premier leaders Bo’ness United and were haunted by a former Fifer.

The only goal of the game came after an hour from ex-kelty Hearts forward Brian Ritchie, but that was only part of the story as Haws ended with nine men, Rory Harrower and then Shaun Leishman receiving red cards.

Dundonald Bluebell were impressive 3-1 winners over Whitehill Welfare at Moorside Park with the game won within the first 30 minutes.

Callum Smith opened the scoring for Lee Dair’s side after seven minutes and Ross Drummond doubled the advantage six minutes later. When Stuart Cargill added a third with less than half-an-hour gone it was all over.

The former Lowland League visitors pulled a goal back on 72 minutes through Devlin.

To say the game between Musselburgh Athletic and Jeanfield Swifts at Olivebank was eventful is something of an understatement.

Veteran striker Mathu King put Burgh in front on six minutes but Chris Mcleish levelled on 25 and a minute later Regan Mclaren put Swifts in front.

Darren Downie then equalised for Musselburgh on the halfhour only for Scott Smith to send Jeanfield in at half-time in front.

Regan Mclaren made it 4-2 on 53 minutes and Conor Mclaren made it five from the penalty spot on the hour.

Nathan Evans saw red for the home side on 70 minutes but the 10 men pulled a goal back on 82 minutes before being reduced to nine men when John Mcmanus was also sent off. Connor Mclaren added a sixth for the visitors in stoppage time.

Crossgates crashed to a 4-2 defeat at Tranent after leading 2-0 with half-an-hour to go.

Archie Campbell put the Fife side in front after just six minutes and doubled the advantage just before the hour.

However, it started to unravel on 61 minutes when Steve Mcdonald pulled a goal back and then equalised, two minutes later. Kyle Lander put Tranent in front on 81 minutes and Mcdonald completed his hattrick on 89 minutes.

In the First Division, Oakley have really found a rich vein of form and continued their run with a 2-0 Conference A win over Craigroyston at Blairwood Park. Stuart Love scored both goals.

Grant Brough’s Burntisland Shipyard thrashed Stirling University at Recreation Park.

Robbie Crawford, Sam Glancy and Dale Allen all scored twice with Ryan O’donnell, Reece Brown and Gavin Ross adding the other goals in a 9-2 win.

Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts pulled off something of a surprise 2-1 win at 10-man Haddington.

The home side had Seamus Russell red-carded in 10 minutes, but it wasn’t until after the break that Gavin Smith put the visitors in front. Haddington equalised through a Gabbri Auriemma penalty five minutes later, but Callum Strang hit Swifts’ winner with five minutes left.

Rhys Davies was the Kinnoull hero as the Perth side returned to winning ways at home to Easthouses Lily.

The striker, who recently rejoined Alan Cameron’s side from Jeanfield, scored a hattrick in eight first half minutes to give Kinnoull a 3-0 win.

St Andrews United and Glenrothes have a rich history of battles but it was Saints who wrote the latest entry in the record books with an 8-1 win at Barnetts Park.

Kyle Wilson scored a hat- trick to go with goals from Dylan Honeyman, Owen Andrew, Ryan Mcinnes Ross Cunningham and Kier Mcauley for Andy Brown’s side with former Saints man Lea Schiavone scoring for Glens.
