Caledonian Marts Ltd, Stirling, sold 1,745 prime lambs, ewes and tups.

Many lambs were £6 sharper on the week with the SQQ average levelling out at 172.4p (+12p on the week).

Good-quality export lambs sold between 190p to 200p+. Overall sale average was 168p (+9p on the week). Top price of the day went to Doune Farms for a 54kg Beltex at £99. Top ppk Meikle Seggie for a 43kg Beltex at 216ppkg.

Leading prices: Prime lambs – Beltex £96 and £95 West Lundie, Beltex X £94 (x2) and £93 Meikle Seggie, Texel £93 Dyke, Texel X £91.50 East Goremyre, Suffolk £85.50 Devonshaw Estates, Mule £74 Dyke.

Ppk – Beltex X 215p Mosshead, Texel X 211p Meikle Seggie, Texel 210p East Goremyre, Continenta­l 208p and 206p Meikle Seggie.

Suffolk 179p Greencraig, Mule 150p Dyke.

Also forward were 451 cast ewes and tups. Heavy ewes ave £78.12 selling to £158 for a Texel from East Goremyre .

Light ewes ave £47.96 selling to £59 for Cheviots from Carden, Fossoway.
