Blue Brazil boss looks to regain momentum

-

Cowdenbeath will look to get back to winning ways at Annan this afternoon after a successful charge up the League Two table was halted by leaders Cove Rangers last weekend.

Cove won 3-1 in Fife, with Gary Bollan looking to move on from the row over referee John Mckendrick’s decision that resulted in the Aberdeen side moving into the lead.

The Blue Brazil boss said: “We actually played well but we were undone by a poor decision from the referee when the game was at 1-1. He gave them a corner when one of their players headed it out and they scored from it.

“It was annoying at the time and it is still annoying know. However, we need to move on from it and be up for playing Annan.

“That was our first league defeat in seven games, and we have to ensure that it is does not deflate the momentum we were building up after six wins and a draw.

“We were on a good run and playing well. There is no reason we cannot get back to that.”

Bollan has told his players they are in for a tough game. He said: “They will be up for playing us as they had a sore defeat at Elgin last Saturday. They found themselves a couple of goals down early before losing 4-0, and will be determined to start a lot better against us.

“The games down at Galabank are always competitive and hard fought and this one will be no different. We won there almost exactly a year ago and were unlucky not to win a second time when we went back in April.”

Bollan’s assistant manager Craig Easton will be in the dugout at Galabank, with the Central Park boss confirming there has been no move to take the former Raith Rovers and Dundee United coach to Forfar as their new manager.

Bollan said: “There has not been any contact that I am aware of about Craig. He is fully focused on Cowdenbeath getting back to winning games.”

Fraser Mullen is still out.
