Day’s big clash sees top two go into battle
Top game of the day tomorrow is undoubtedly the clash of the top two in the Premiership, Grange and Grove Menzieshill at Fettes.
Grange hold a fourpoint advantage with a game more played, so there really is all to play for as far as Menzieshill are concerned.
There are sufficient skilful players in the Menzieshill ranks but their overall indecision in throwing away a three-goal lead against Edinburgh University must be changed – and quickly.
This is not yet a Menzieshill team that is showing its expected commitment to challenge for every ball, but is still one which can extricate itself from difficult situations.
Dundee Wanderers have a day off, having already played scheduled opponents Kelburne.
They can but hope that Hillhead and Watsonians, both on four points, lose to Edinburgh University and Clydesdale.
Perthshire will expect to maintain their high scoring form away to Glasgow University.
Victory should see them overtake Gordonians, who are only two points ahead but who face highflying Inverleith, who are scoring at an average of 10 goals per game and conceding only one.
St Andrews still look fairly secure in midtable but a win over Stepps would keep them well clear of the bottom four.
Monarchs will surely pick up three points against Harris while Strathclyde might just slip up against Highland.
However, there can be no slip for Strathclyde on tomorrow when Harris are the visitors.
