Bottom of table clash a must-win – Wilson

-

Brechin manager Mark Wilson admits that the bottom of the table Glebe Park side’s game with free-falling Annan comes into the must-win category, however he believes the out of sorts Galabank men will feel the same.

Wilson explained: “The two teams are struggling just now but they are struggling in different ways.

“We have had a difficult season but recently we have started scoring goals and coming close to wins. Annan had a great first half of the season and looked like they could have been in the play-offs. However, they have lost their last six games and are conceding a fair amount of goals.

“Both teams will be going all out to win and I cannot see this one finishing 0-0.”

Wilson added: “Every game for us is crucial now. We have 13 games to go and everyone is a must-win for the club starting with the visit of Annan. We went into our game with Albion Rovers with that attitude last weekend and it worked really well for the majority of the first half. We got ourselves in front and held on to the lead...”

Things turned around quickly and negatively with Wilson explaining: “I had prepared my team-talk for halftime in my mind, however one mistake later it was 1-1 and when that happened doubts started creeping in. That led to going behind in first half injury time and everything about the game had changed in six minutes.

“Rovers scored early in the second half and what had looked like being a positive afternoon turned into a very disappointing one. Hopefully the Annan game will be a positive one for us.”

Ross Brown has joined Luke Watt on the absentee lost after suffering an ankle injury in training.
