Police have renewed their appeal for information two years after a Fife pensioner was bound, blindfolded and robbed at knifepoint in her own home.

The incident happened on Lundin Road in Crossford around 11pm on Friday, May 4 2018, when the 76-yearold woman was held in a house and a number of items were stolen from the property.

Crimestoppers has offered a reward of £5,000 for information that leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for the robbery.

Despite painstaking work by detectives, which saw the focus of the investigation shift at one stage to Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, the trail appears to have gone cold.

Detective Sergeant Kieran Marsh, of Dunfermline CID, said: “Despite extensive inquiries by detectives and a national television appeal, we have

been unable to identify and locate this man who we would like to speak to as we believe he may have information that could assist our investigation.

“We are further appealing for the public’s help with this.

“Anyone who recognises him is urged to contact either police or Crimestoppers as soon as possible.”

Various appeals have previously been made over the past two years.

The victim, who was bound with cable ties and blindfolded, was eventually rescued by a concerned neighbour after her tormentor had fled.

A key strand of the investigation revolves around CCTV footage which officers believe could crack the case.

The footage, taken at a Tesco fuel garage in Greenock on Monday, May 7 2018, shows a man police want to talk to about the robbery.

He is around 5ft 8ins tall and medium build with short light hair.

He may have a foreign accent, possibly Eastern European, and might have been driving a black Vauxhall Mokka.

The man is thought to have links to Greenock and the Clackmannanshire areas, and is believed to have been in the west Fife area in the days leading up to the incident.

Anyone with information can contact Dunfermline CID via 101. An anonymous report can also be made via the charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
