Glens land long-time target in midfielder Perrie

-

Most clubs are continuing with plans for the new season despite there being no firm date for leagues outside the SPFL to begin competitive action.

Glenrothes have made major advances off the park and have carried out a lot of work at Warout Stadium despite two acts of vandalism over the last week.

On the park, co-managers John Martin and Kevin Smith have added influential midfielder Michael Perrie to their squad from Lochgelly Albert, a player that the duo have had on their list of targets for a while.

At neighbours Thornton Hibs, manager Craig Gilbert has managed to re-sign most of his squad and added Fergus Mackie and Jackson Hoskisson to his side from the clubs Under-19s. However, Shaun Keatings, Raymond Crichton and Scott Costello have signed for Burntisland Shipyard and Rikki Cooper will not be returning to the club for the 2020/21 season.

Dundonald Bluebell boss Kevin Fotheringham is another who has managed to retain the services of the majority of his squad and at the same time strengthened with the addition of Ross Mutch from Kelty Hearts, Liam Craig from Kennoway Star Hearts and Kieran Dall and Jed Crowe from the under-20 squad.

Kennoway Star Hearts have been hard at work off the park with plenty of improvements being made to their Treaton Park ground.

Liam Craig has left the club for Dundonald but manager Lee Richardson has been able to secure the services of Ross Balmer from Bo’ness United.

Rosyth have lost two players from the squad that did well last term. Stuart Gibb has departed due to work commitments while experienced striker Barry Sibanda has returned to Cupar Hearts. The club have made additions to the squad but as yet these are to be announced.

In the junior ranks it is still pretty quiet, but with contracts due to expire at the weekend more news is expected over the next few days.

The only club to make any announcement so far is Forfar West End who have confirmed the departure of nine players from Derek Lawson’s squad. Michael Mcilravey, Callum Petrie, Zak Wilson, Ryan Cruickshanks, Paul Weir, Callum Walls, Jordan Timmons, Cammy Mcmahon and Graeme Hart will all leave the club.
