HARDWARE: New outlets mean jobs boost for Turriff and Nairn as supplier firms up presence
John Deere has announced changes to its dealer network in the north of Scotland.
Netherton Tractors, which has its headquarters near Forfar and also has a base at Glenrothes, will open two new outlets in Turriff and Nairn later this year.
In a statement, John Deere said
Netherton will replace HRN Tractors as the main John Deere dealer in the Aberdeenshire and Highland regions from November 1.
It follows news last month that HRN Tractors will cease to be a John Deere dealer at Balbeggie in Perthshire from the end of October.
Netherton Tractors will instead cover the area by opening a new John Deere outlet in the Arran Road business park close to the A9 on the outskirts of Perth.
HRN Tractors, which also has depots in Insch, Turriff, Kinloss, Muir of Ord and Caithness, declined to comment but said it would have news to share next week.
John Deere’s division sales manager, Chris Meacock, said Netherton had grown to become one of the company’s best performing dealerships since it joined the network in 1987.
“It is well known for delivering a very high standard of customer service and support,” added Mr Meacock.
“We are delighted that this latest expansion into the north of Scotland will enhance the customer experience of our advanced technology product range.”
Netherton’s general manager, Garry Smith, said: “We very much look forward to establishing a positive presence in the region as soon as possible.
“We are proud of our reputation for delivering top quality after-sales and service support to our customers, across the full range of John Deere agricultural and homeowner equipment.
“We are actively seeking premises in the Turriff and Nairn areas and will be looking to recruit new and experienced staff to meet the same high standards.”
