Gosden’s Amtiyaz worth another chance

- NICK ROBSON

AMTIYAZ was denied a hat-trick when he met troub le in running, but he can regain the winning thread in the Try Our New Super Boosts At Unibet Handicap at Kempton.

The John Gosden-trained Frankel colt had struck up a good relationship with Hollie Doyle, who rides him as part of her retainer for owner Imad Al Sagar, but Robert Havlin was on board last time out.

There was no blame attached to Havlin, it was just the circumstances of the race conspired against him and by the time he had switched around the field to get a clear run, he was out of his ground.

Amtiyaz ran on well, suggesting his handicap mark was not beyond him and the two-mile trip was fine, too, and he is worth another chance, with Doyle back in the plate.

Strictly on the ratings, TRANCHEE has a bit to find in the Uni bet 3 Uniboosts A Day Conditions Stakes. However, David Loughnane’s five-year-old remains in great heart and might just have the race run to suit.

He usually takes a prominent position, but last time he found himself at the rear of the field before he flashed home.

Unfortunately for him the line came too soon and he was beaten a short head. That was in a handicap, but he steps up in class here and might just be up to it.
