Funding for kingdom food and drink firms to participate in show

-

Funding is available for Fife food and drink businesses to take part in Scotland’s Speciality Food Show.

The event has previously proved successful for kingdom firms finding new markets.

It is being delivered online all year.

Registered buyers can request information on products, access virtual showrooms, bookmark favourite products and make appointments with exhibitors.

Fife Council Economic D e v e l o p m e n t ’s trade development programme is offering 50% of the online exhibition costs.

Ann Camus, enterprise and bus iness development manager at Fife Council, said: “Scotland’s Speciality Food Show has a proven track record of creating opportunities in new and existing markets for Fifebased food and drink businesses.

“The feedback we’ve had in recent years has been positive, with businesses reporting the establishment of viable contacts as well as securing contracts.

“Wi t h it running online over the course of 2021, that will create more opportunities for local food and drink businesses.”

Feragaia,

Scotland’s first distilled alcohol-free spirit, exhibited at last year’s show where it met a buyer from Harrods.

The fast-growing firm subsequently signed a supply deal with the prestigious department store.

Feragaia co- founder Bill Garnock said: “In addition to meeting a representative from Harrods we were also able to form other supply opportunities, meeting high- calibre food and drink buyers from across the UK , which h av e resulted in sales over the last year.

“We’ ve had a 250% growth in our monthly sales since January last year.

“We’re still reaping the benefits of exhibiting at Scotland’s Speciality Food Show, as we continue to network and develop some of those initial contacts.

“We will be exhibiting again this year – online over the course of the year – as we seek to grow the domestic side of our business, as well as develop export opportunities.”

Fife- based food and drink businesses keen to exhibit virtually at Scotland’s Speciality Food Show 2021 are requested to contact Investfife at fifemeansbusiness@ fife. gov. uk to discuss support available.
