Linn ready to weave strong mesh for Red Lichties safety net

-

Bobby Linn has declared himself ready to become a key man in Arbroath’s quest for Championship safety.

Linn climbed off the bench last Friday night to set up Ricky Little for his awesome headed equaliser in their 1-1 draw with promotion hopefuls Dundee at Gayfield.

The 35-year-old hasn’t been starting regularly recently for Dick Campbell’s basement battlers, who head to Morton today as they step up their survival mission.

But the ex-dens Park kid is relishing the run-in and is itching to play a starring role for the parttime Lichties.

Linn said: “My hunger is still the same. I just want to play every week and help the boys get results.

“The gaffer is brilliant with everyone. He picks the team and I totally respect that. Personally, I’m feeling as fit as ever and know what I can offer.

“It’s been tough at times this season. So we’re obviously looking to climb the table. It’s about looking upwards and I just want to be part of it between now and the end of the season.”

Campbell, who has added striker Jack Hamilton to his squad on loan from Livingston, said of today’s opponents: “We had them watched in midweek when they drew 2-2 with Inverness Caley and what struck us is that there is a tremendous spirit in the team.

“They were 2-1 down and had a player sent off but they came back to get a point.

“Aidan Nesbitt and Gary Oliver did a really good job for them in attack so we are well-warned.

“We are going into the game after a good performance in our draw with Dundee so I am confident we can get something.”

The Arbroath squad is at full-strength with Campbell adding: “It was great to get Jack sorted out and I am working on a couple of others so we could be even stronger for the game.”
