Campbell calls for same again from Lichties

-

It will be a case of ordering the “same again” from Arbroath manager Dick Campbell when the Red Lichties host Inverness Caledonian Thistle just three days after the Gayfield men won 1-0 at Morton.

A debut goal from on-loan Livingston striker Jack Hamilton secured the three points that lifted Arbroath off bottom spot and a win tonight would take Campbell’s side level with their Highland visitors, albeit Inverness have three games in hand.

Campbell said: “No one could deny us the win at Cappielow. It is not an easy venue and Morton are a side full of spirit but we came away with the three points. I thought our players were outstanding in the second half, when we were on top for long periods, and Jack took his goal really well which was pleasing to see.

“All I can ask the players to do is to play like they did at the weekend. If they do that, they will not be far away from getting something in this game as well.”

Campbell added: “A win would be great as I would much rather move level with a side that has three games in hand than continue to sit behind them.

“It would also take us to within a point of Queen of the South who may be thinking that they do not need to worry about us any more after their recent good run.”

Lewis Moore has been added to a fully fit and suspension free squad on loan from Hearts, however Aberdeen striker Michael Ruth has ended his temporary period at the club, with Campbell saying: “Lewis trained with us on Monday night and he looked really sharp.”
