THAINSTONE – Aberdeen and Northern Marts sold 516 ewes with lambs at foot, breeding ewes and store lambs. Ewes with lambs at foot (58) averaged £73.70 and sold to £74 (twice) firstly for Cheviot Cross four-crop ewes with lamb and half from Bankhead, Portlethen, and for Mule BM ewes with lamb and half from Mains of Craignell, Bridge of Don.

Breeding ewes (29) averaged £117.93 and sold to £130 for Texel cross WM from Blackhillo­ck, Keith.

Store lambs (429) averaged £108.30 and sold to £146 for Texel crosses from Newton, Tullynessl­e.

Heavy ewes averaged £114.26 selling to £155 for a Berrichon Du Cher from Iain Johnston, Kirkton, Falkirk.

Export ewes averaged £78.09 selling to £111 for Cheviots from D Bell, Kincraigie, Strathmigl­o.
