STIRLING – United Auctions sold 805 store cattle at their annual Perth sale including 35 east area Young Farmers calves.
Bullocks (445) averaged 259.9p and sold to a top of 330.20p per kg for a pen of 427kg Limousin crosses from Monzie Farms, and £1,510 for a 586kg Limousin cross from Ballechin.
Heifers (442) averaged 254.67p and sold to a top price of 438.60p per kg for a 456kg Limousin cross from Stanley and £2,000 for the same animal.

Old season prime lambs (114) averaged 289p and sold to a top price of 315.9p per kg for 44kg Beltex from Ackergill Mains, Wick, and £152 for 53kg Beltex from Brae-edge, Castletown.
Ewe lambs (103) averaged £113.97 and sold to a top price of £168 for Cheviots from West Point, Mid-keiss.
Old season store lambs (281) averaged £90.34 and sold to a top price of £142 for a pen of Texels from Strath Farm, Watten.
Feeding ewes and rams (233) averaged £109.27 and sold to £191 for Texels from Hill of Forss, Forss, Thurso. “Trade for all stock sold at rates well in excess of sellers’ expectations and many more are required for our next sale to satisfy ongoing demand,” said the mart.
