• CRICKET: Scotland will end their long wait for action when they take on Holland in two ODIS next month.

The Scots, who last played a competitive match in December 2019, will head to Rotterdam for the matches on May 19 and 21 as Shane Burger’s team begins the build-up to the T20 World Cup in October.

Meanwhile, former Northants all-rounder Tom Sole has become Scotland’s latest contracted player after signing a one-year deal.

Sole, released by the county last year, has already played in 10 ODIS and nine T20 internationals.

• CYCLING: Simon Yates won stage two of the Tour of the Alps to seize the race lead.

Yates broke away on the penultimate climb of the 121.5km stage from Innsbruck to Feichten im Kaunertal, soloing to victory by 41 seconds from Ineos Grenadiers’ Pavel Sivakov.

That was enough for the Team Bikeexchange rider to take the race leader’s jersey off Sivakov’s team-mate Gianni Moscon, and Yates now leads overall by 45 seconds from Sivakov.

• GOLF: Ireland’s Seamus Power has withdrawn from the Zurich Classic of New Orleans after testing positive for Covid-19.

Power is replaced in the field by first alternate Zack Sucher, who will partner David Hearn in the two-man team competition at TPC Louisiana.

Power is ranked 438th in the world after recording a top-10 finish on his most recent start on the Korn Ferry Tour.

• SPORT: Eddie Hearn is to become chairman of the Matchroom Sport Group as his father Barry steps aside after almost 40 years to take up an advisory role as president.

The 41-year-old boxing promoter will also take over as chairman of the Professional Darts Corporation and the PGA Europro Tour.

Steve Dawson will take over from Barry Hearn as chairman of World Snooker following this year’s World Championship.
