Countdown to the official reopening weekend at the city’s watersports hub on Dundee’s waterfront

-

The team at the city’s watersports hub on Dundee’s Waterfront are gearing up to welcome visitors back this weekend at its Five Star Visitscotland attraction and share exciting news of their expansion plans and new name, Wild Shore Dundee.

The water-based adventure park, which has been a hive of activity in the city since 2017 features wakeboarding, one of the world’s fastest growing watersports and Scotlands largest aqua park, a giant inflatable assault course spanning 600sqm with 18 obstacles featuring the Moon Jump, Neptune’s Steps, The Tire Run and the 3.8m high Mighty Mount Rainer.

Suitable for thrill seekers aged eight and upwards the floating assault course tests the balance and coordination of up to 24 people at a time with the aim of making their way around the wide variety of challenging obstacles without falling in.

It also boasts Ringo Rides where you can take turns tearing up and down the length of the City Quay water on inflatables, feeling every bump and splash along the way -the perfect add-on activity to complete a fun-filled day out.

Stand Up Paddleboarding is also a big hit with visitors where they can either book a lesson or for the more experienced, ‘Hire&paddle’ SUP boards and venture out on their own.

Open Water Swimming sessions are also running weekly at the site, providing a safe environment for people to enjoy wild swimming under the supervision of qualified, experienced staff.

Exciting plans for the hub include a £30k expansion with a spectator seating area, additional changing facilities and a new kit storage unit, which have been brought forward due to Covid restrictions, allowing for even safer, social distancing at the hub.

It also includes changing the name from Foxlake Dundee to Wild Shore Dundee, in line with the company’s three sites south of the border, Wild Shore Delamere, Wild Shore New

Brighton and Wild Shore Liverpool.

Manager Zak Hegarty said: “This is an exciting time for us as we reopen for the season and welcome visitors back with our expansion plans, including the creation of a spectator seating area, and unveil our new name, Wild Shore Dundee.

“Whether you fancy an adrenalin-charged session on our giant inflatable playground, wakeboarding or stand up paddleboarding, you’re guaranteed a great, fun-filled action-packed day out with friends and family in the heart of city.

“We are fully accessible and inclusive, regardless of ability and Waterski & Wakeboard Scotland accredited with a team of highly skilled and trained coaches and staff on board who are all really looking forward to welcoming our visitors back and making sure they leave with a big smile on their face!

Whether you fancy an adrenalin-charged session on our giant inflatable playground, wakeboarding or stand up paddleboarding, you’re guaranteed a great, fun-filled actionpacked day out with friends and family in the heart of city.
