The Rhumba Club presents . . . a festival of House

Saturday, October 12

-

ALRIGHT, WE know, the Rhumba Club has had more comebacks than Ole’ Blue Eyes himself. And their “absolute final gig” One MoreTune last year was as good a farewell show as you can get. But this is special!

Returning to celebrate 30 years of Fat Sam’s this year, Rhumbateers and clubbers – old and new – have the absolute mother of all parties to look forward to in October, with Rhumba taking over the whole of Fatties for the night.

In what is claimed will be the party of the decade, headliners including Hot Chip and Leftfield DJ sets, Dave Seaman, DJ Yoda, Jon Pleased Wimmin, Steve Bicknell, Krafty Kuts, Jeremy Healy, PaulWain, James Bradley, Michael Kilkie are all there, along with The Cuban Brothers Live, Tom Simpson of Snow Patrol, Roots, Zammo and all the old Rhumba regulars. And that’s not all, they even have another DJ to confirm

Wayne from Rhumba said: “This has not been an easy decision for us. We all had an absolutely magical time at the excellent One More Tune finale and for us that was the perfect way to end the historic Rhumba legacy.

“It was a night that truly captured everything that the Rhumba stood for – brilliant, happy, smiley people, throwing some serious shapes, an unbelievable soundtrack delivered by a collection of the Rhumba’s nearest and dearest DJs and an atmosphere to match any night from our 21-yearhistory. A magical way to end it all!

“But, what we weren’t expecting was the massive outpouring of requests and messages from all the lovely Rhumbateers to do another party.

“That was extremely touching and very, very moving.

“However, we resisted . . . and resisted . . . and resisted some more . . . and then finally thought, ‘Sod it, start the bus, Ronnie we’re going on one more journey of madness!’

“So, for one night only, The Rhumba Club returns to take over the whole of the legendary Fat Sam’s, delivering for you, our ever so persuasive friends, a soundclash of the very best in electronic music.

“It will be a spectacular evening, hosted across six fabulous rooms, to celebrate 30 years of this great Scottish institution.

“This is a fantastic opportunity for everyone who has ever partied on the Rhumba dancefloor, who has danced to the amazing music, who has held their arms aloft and screamed ‘YES’ in the heady, laser-filled haze to come back together again and party, Party, PARTY!

“To soundtrack this Festival of House, we have put together a very special Rhumba line-up. Our own little Acid House box of chocolates.”

In the spirit of unity, Rhumba has joined forces with their brother and sister DJs from all the other great local club nights to make this a weekend to remember.

Wayne added: “And it doesn’t end there, we are also going to offer official pre-club parties spread all over the area to ensure people will know Rhumba is back.

“The full list of pre-parties and their lineups will be revealed soon, but for now we can say the line-up for these will encapsulate many, many talented DJs from the area.”

A Festival of House takes place on Saturday, October 12 and the full line-up will be available on the Rhumba Club’s Facebook page later today.

Tickets are £22 and are on sale from all Manifesto stores, or from www.ticketline. co.uk/the-rhumba-club
