Man to be sentenced following Rosyth street attack

A man’s life was at risk after he sustained severe injuries in a Rosyth street attack, a court has heard.

In the dock at Dunfermlin­e Sheriff Court was Scott Tierney, 19, of Burns Street, High Valleyfiel­d.

He admitted that on December 5 at Queensferr­y Road, Rosyth, he assaulted Garry Hay, threw stones at him which struck him and punched him on the head, causing him to fall to the ground and lose consciousn­ess.

Thereafter, while the victim was on the ground, Tierney kicked him on the head to his severe injury, impairment and to the danger of his life.

Tierney will return to court for sentencing on August 23.
