Hugh’s War on Waste: The Battle Continues
(BBC1, 9pm-10pm)
He’s so laidback and easygoing that it’s difficult to imagine Hugh FearnleyWhittingstall getting cross about anything, but one matter that really gets his goat is wastage - and boy, do we do a lot of that in the UK. According to figures quoted in this programme, the average family disposes of £700 worth of food every year and Hugh thinks it’s high time that came to an end. As a result, he confronts shoppers in a supermarket, armed with a wheelie bin, and attempts to take their shopping off them before they have even left the store. He also visits a parsnip farm in Norfolk.
