Collider’s sweet music
It was built to help uncover the building blocks of our universe – but scientists have found that Cern’s Large Hadron Collider particle accelerator can write beautiful music too, and they will perform it at the Womad Festival in Wiltshire today.
Data from the giant physics experiment, buried beneath the Swiss-French border, has been “sonified”.
This involved converting the peaks and troughs of particle research into musical notes.
