Wrestlers cleared
United World Wrestling has cleared 16 of Russia’s 17-strong team for next month’s Rio Olympics.
The only athlete to be rejected by wrestling’s international federation is Viktor Lebedev, because he has already served a doping ban.
His place in the 57kg freestyle event goes to Belarus.
Like every other federation in the summer Olympics, the UWW has been assessing each Russian athlete’s anti-doping record in the wake of a report into state-directed cheating in Russia by Canadian law professor Richard McLaren.
