Rivaldo: Played alongside son Rivaldinho at Sao Paulo-based side Mogi Mirim in 2013. The former Barcelona and AC Milan star announced his retirement a month later but changed his mind 15 months after that. He came out of retirement at the age of 43 to score in the same match as his 20-year-old son in a 3-1 victory.
Henrik Larsson: The Celtic legend made his final bow at Swedish fourth-tier team Hogaborgs BK. He played with 15-year-old son Jordan who registered himself on the scoresheet.
George Eastham Jr: The 1966 Fifa World Cup winner also holds a medal from another tournament with personal significance. Aged 18 in 1954, he lined up with father George Eastham Sr for Ards in Northern Ireland’s Gold Cup. Ards ran out winners with 39-year-old George Sr bagging the decisive goal.
Ian Bowyer: The two-time European Cup winner enlisted the help of his son Gary while player-manager at Hereford United during the 1989/90 English Fourth Division season.
Arnor and Eidur Gudjohnsen: The Icelandic duo never actually played together as team-mates, but son Eidur replaced Arnor as a second-half substitute in an international friendly match against Estonia in 1996.
Alex Herd: The league and cup winner with Manchester City played alongside son David for Stockport County on the final day of the 1950/51 Third Division North season. David went on to claim an English First Division and FA Cup title, but with local rivals Manchester United.
Alexei Eremenko Sr: The Russian enjoyed two seasons with his son Alexei Eremenko Jr at Finnish side HJK Helsinki. Both claimed back-to-back league titles and won the 2003 Finnish Cup. Eremenko Sr then linked up with second son and current CSKA Moscow star Roman Eremenko at FF Jaro.
Bára Skaale Klakkstein: Played with daughter Eyðvør representing the Faroe Islands women’s national football team. Marked the first time a parent and child competed for their country in the sport.
