The Minnesota State Fair wants 6,000 (about £2,140) from British pop singers Chad and Jeremy, who disappeared after giving only one performance of a five-day engagement, the fair’s secretary Mr John Libby, said in St Paul yesterday. “They were on a play or pay contract,” he said. This stipulated that they would be paid $6,000 for the engagement, but that if they failed to appear they would have to pay a penalty of the same amount. Fair officials said the pair had not received any money.
