Former Hearts defender McKay freed by Saints

St Johnstone defender Brad McKay is set to join Inverness Caley Thistle.

The former Hearts man struggled to make an impact in his first season at McDiarmid Park and was later loaned out to Dunfermline.

He returned to Perth in the summer and played three times at the start of the campaign, scoring the winner against his old club in the League Cup.

McKay’s last match was against Celtic, when he was at fault for the third goal before half-time, being brushed aside by Leigh Griffiths on the halfway line.

The 23-year-old was released yesterday by Tommy Wright’s side and he looks set to head north and sign a two-year deal with ICT.
