Optician sees future for former town centre nightclub site

-

An optician chain has unveiled its vision to transform part of a former Glenrothes nightspot.

Specsavers has lodged a planning application to renovate the first floor of what was once Badgers nightclub, in the Falkland Gate area of the town centre.

The premises have been empty for several years and the optician has unveiled proposals that would see the first floor of the unit turned into a laboratory office and storage area.

The store is located within the town’s Kingdom Shopping Centre.

The ground floor of the building is occupied by the Clydesdale Bank, which relocated to the site following the demolition of New Glenrothes House four years ago.
