Station in line for relocation after plans are given the green light

-

Plans that will see the relocation of Dunfermline ambulance station have been approved by Fife Council.

The Scottish Ambulance Service had requested permission earlier this year to move from its current base in Keir Hardie Terrace to the Pitreavie Industrial Estate.

The move was proposed by the ambulance service after claiming that response times would be improved by moving the relatively short distance, while also taking its operations out of a largely residential area.

A statement from the service earlier this year said: “The new station will provide quick and easy access to Queensferry Road and create a modern, fit-for-purpose facility for ambulance staff.”
