Baird’s Highland pony success
Aberdeen Highland Pony Show saw a win for Sandy Baird of West Whitefield, Blairgowrie, and his brood mare, Purple Heather of Whitefield.
By Lancelot of Whitefield, she is out of Heather Honey of Whitefield and was shown with her Oliver of Forglen-sired foal at foot.
The show, run by the North-east of Scotland Highland Pony Enthusiasts Society, was judged by Pat Gray.
The reserve championship went to Kate Lawson and Willie Sinclair, of Kinaldie Holdings, Arbroath. Their twoyear-old filly, Lochlands Arizona Lady, is by Strathmore Cameron and out of Lochlands Magic Flute.
Best opposite sex to the champion was Robin and Karen Stewart’s Coulnacraig Jacobite, from Stablesbrae, Durris.
This stallion is by Coulnacraig Highlander and out of Denmill Catriona.
