New fire service centre covering Fife officially opened
A new state-of-the-art centre which will combine three facilities, including Thornton in Fife, has been officially opened.
Chairman of the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service board Pat Watters and chief officer Alasdair Hay formally opened the new East Service Delivery Headquarters and Asset Resource Centre at Newbridge in Edinburgh.
The Headquarters and Asset Resource Centre is part of a £1.9 million investment in the east of the country and will serve Edinburgh, Fife, Clackmannanshire, Stirling, Falkirk, West and East Lothian, Midlothian and the Scottish Borders.
It brings together 130 staff under one roof and pools the expertise of a number of teams.
