Council rents to be discussed at special Kirkcaldy meeting

Fife Council tenants are to quiz Fife Council on rents at a special gathering in Kirkcaldy.

A number of questions were raised by members of Fife Federation of Tenants and Residents Association (FFOTRA) and these will be put to officials at the Dean Park Hotel next Thursday.

FFOTRA chairman Alex Condie said: “It’s clear that our members want to know what the council is doing to ensure that even the most disadvantaged tenants can afford to pay their rents without having to further cut back on other essential requirements.

“They are concerned that rents, along with other household bills, continually rise at levels that outstrip any rise in household income and are very aware that this can’t continue.”
