Writers converge on Dundee

-

Writers from all genres were celebrated as the Dundee Literary festival kicked off yesterday.

The annual event brings the best writers in the world to the city to honour the written word.

One of the first events in this year’ s festival was the launch of The Voyage Out, a book on the theme of journeys compiled from submissions from artists and scientists including actor Brian Cox, travel writer Robert Macfarlane, forensic anthropologist Sue Black, and Dundee Makar WN Herbert.

The book was launched on the deck of the RR S Discovery.
