A serial sex offender has been found guilty of indecently assaulting a teenage girl.

Scott Williams was also convicted of sexually assaulting another woman on two separate occasions.

It emerged after the jury found him guilty that he had previously been convicted of having sex with an underage girl and was placed on the sex offenders register.

Williams, 31, Great Michael Road, Arbroath, had been on trial at the High Court in Aberdeen accused of committing a series of offences between April 2006 and September 2008.

The court heard he targeted one of his victims on a fairground ride at Riverside in Dundee and that he committed another sexual assault at a property in Brechin.

Over the same period he attacked the same woman in a car in Brechin.

Williams had also been accused of attacking a woman at a house in Brechin between April 2006 and September 2008, but the jury returned a not proven verdict.

Judge Lord Burns remanded Williams in custody and deferred sentence for background reports.

He will appear at the High Court in Glasgow for sentence on November 22.
