Call-handling errors should be published, say Lib Dems
Information on police call-handling errors should be routinely made public, the Liberal Democrats have said.
A BBC investigation last week revealed that since April there have been 82 “notable incidents”, including so-called near misses in Police Scotland call centres.
Lib Dem MSP Liam McArthur pointed out the figures were only obtained by the broadcaster under freedom of information legislation after the intervention of the Scottish Information Commissioner.
He pressed Justice Secretary Michael Matheson at Holyrood to set out what government action was being taken to reduce the number of “near misses”.
