Ignis ready to go

The all-new Suzuki Ignis will go on sale in January, priced from £9,999, with a choice of two- or four-wheel drive and the option of a hybrid.

Its 1.2-litre dualjet petrol engine delivers 90ps with emissions of 104g/km, or if you opt for Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid system (£12,999) the CO2 figure drops to 97g/km.

Two-wheel drive hybrid models can achieve an average mpg figure of 65.7, data for other models is yet to be released.

In part, this efficiency can be attributed to the car’s low kerb weight of 810kg which was a key credential in the development of the new model.

Dubbed a “compact crossover”, Suzuki says the car features excellent visibility, a spacious cabin and ample luggage space of 267 litres.
