Blair Logan accused of setting fire to house on New Year’s Day

As Fifer Rebecca Williams recovers from serious injuries in hospital after being rescued from a blaze that killed her boyfriend Cameron Logan, 23, his brother has appeared in court charged with murder in relation to the fire that claimed his life.

David and Cathy Logan, both 54, were treated for smoke inhalation, while Bex, as she was known, was rushed to hospital in a critical condition.

The 24-year-old has since been listed as in a stable condition.

Blair Logan, 26, appeared in Dumbarton Sheriff Court charged with murder, assault to severe injury, danger to life and attempted murder. He made no plea and was remanded in custody.

Police believe the fire, which started early on New Year’s Day in the Logan family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, was deliberately lit.

A man has appeared in court charged with murdering his brother in a house fire on New Year’s Day.

Cameron Logan, 23, died in the blaze at his family home in Milngavie, East Dunbartonshire, in the early hours of January 1.

His partner Rebecca Williams, 24, was rescued from the Achray Place house but remains in hospital, while his parents, David and Cathy, both 54, were treated for smoke inhalation.

The family dog, Gomez, also died in the fire, which police believe was deliberately lit.

Radio journalist Rebecca, known as Bex and originally from Wormit, was rescued by her boyfriend’s father and neighbours, who braved the flames to save her.

Initially in a critical condition, she has fought bravely for her life.

Police were able to interview her recently and her condition is reported to be stable.
