Former Grove goalkeeper to benefit from funding

-

A former Grove Menzieshill goalkeeper is to benefit following UK Sport’s decision to boost funding for the next Olympic cycle as a direct result of the GB women’s gold medal in Rio.

Nicki Cochrane – now of Strathallan FP – along with fellow Scottish internationalists Sarah Robertson (Edinburgh University) and Amy Costello (Birmingham University) were among the 32-strong squad who will benefit from full-time funding support as GB put the building blocks in place for the defence of their title at the Tokyo 2020 Games.

Cochrane and Costello have been impressive performers for Scotland over the past 12 months.

Robertson gets a second bite at the cherry after narrowly losing out on the final cut for Rio.
