Postcard album

“Readers have been comparing notes about diaries. I kept one only a short time until I found my sister was reading it and stopped,” writes a Craigie regular.

“Nearly 40 years ago, however, while holidaying with a headmaster friend and his wife, I noticed that he bought holiday postcards of the places we visited and kept a record of the holidays on them.

“I thought that was a very good idea and have kept holiday postcard albums ever since.

“Like diaries, they come in very handy for reference when I want to know when I had holidayed in a certain place and the address and description of any hotel or restaurant we had visited.

“The postcards also help to pinpoint the dates and locations of any snaps I have taken.”
