Lift-off for Dundee Business Week 2017
A visual marketing presentation will kick off a packed programme of events for Dundee Business Week today.
Elevator and Business Gateway communications coordinator Ross Cairney will set the ball rolling with the session aboard HMS Unicorn tonight.
Dundee City Council takes the lead for the second session of the week with a Meet The Buyer event at the Invercarse Hotel tomorrow morning.
The gathering is designed to encourage greater engagement between the private and public sectors across sectors including personal care, construction, transport and catering.
Council buyers and representatives from NHS Tayside and leading academic institutions will be on hand to chat with companies.
The programme continues on Wednesday with a Dundee and Angus Chamber of Commerce organised business breakfast at the city’s Malmaison hotel featuring rising tech entrepreneur Leah Hutcheon of Appointedd as keynote speaker.
The same venue hosts a cultural tourism business breakfast on behalf of Scottish Enterprise on Thursday.
Other events include a session on employment tribunals run by SCR Solutions, an “Enterprising Approach to Life” event by the Muslim Women’s Resource Centre and a recruitment and retention event in association with CEED, the Centre for Engineering, Education and Development.
Dundee Business Week also coincides with Dundee University’s first Entrepreneurship Week which will feature a number of workshops to help foster the next generation of business talent.
Social Bite entrepreneur Josh Littlejohn will deliver the inaugural Principal’s Lecture in Entrepreneurship on Thursday.
The week will conclude with a day-long series of events centred on the Venture 2017 final – a pitching competition for entrepreneurs carrying a £25,000 prize fund.
Adventurer Mark Beaumont and entrepreneur Cally Russell will be in attendance on the day.
