Swanson entitled to his say over Saints contract talks, says Wright

-

Wright said: “Danny was right to have his say. There are two parties involved but I don’t take his comments as a negative as it shows he wants to stay here. I might give the chairman a quick ring now as he’ll be in a good mood and we’ll see if we can get it done.”

Wright’s men now have an away record second only to Celtic after six wins, four draws and three defeats on the road in the league.

He said: “We played extremely well. I don’t think Zander had too many saves to make. They are a good side but our shape gave us control and we looked a threat all afternoon.

“We created chances all afternoon but had our final ball been better we could have had more chances. We had chances at one on ones, hit the post, the bar and were a threat all afternoon.

“The goal we lost was unlucky from our point of view but we kept going and I’m so pleased for Chris Kane – it’s a great goal fit to win any game.

“We always come up here knowing it is difficult and we knew County would be looking to close the gap to seven points. There’s a long way to go but we’ve put a huge gap between County and ourselves now which will be difficult to close.

“Our away form has been magnificent this season. We’re a point behind Hearts now but at the moment our focus is on getting the three points to take us closer to sealing a place in the top six.”

I might give the chairman a quick ring now as he’ll be in a good mood. TOMMY WRIGHT
