Rudimental get a second chance to play in Tayside

-

The Dundee festival will give English drum and bass band Rudimental another chance at playing in Tayside, after organisers pulled the plug on a previous Angus event.

The Festival of House was set to bring 5,000 fans to Panmure Estate, near Carnoustie, last year.

However, Mr Blyth felt forced to cancel the festival, citing irreconcilable differences with Angus Council. Permission for Festival of House was due to be decided at a meeting of the local authority’s licensing board the day after Mr Blyth told of a “gap between all parties in terms of key plans” that was “incapable of resolution” within two months.

Organisers were “disappointed” to pull the event, and proposed talks with the local authority over another chance to promote a dance event on the 12th Century estate or elsewhere in the county.

Dundee planners subsequently approved Carnival 56 in November.
