Christian’s past helps in his day job
Christian Matlock – known as Christian Allday while a pupil at Andover Primary then Brechin High – originally dreamed of a job in a UK police force.
However, he was eventually forced to move Stateside to turn his dream of catching criminals into a reality.
In his younger years he was no stranger to the law and, in 2006, he appeared at Forfar Sheriff Court where he was fined £175 and ordered to pay £200 in compensation after he assaulted man who allegedly threatened to squirt his then-girlfriend with a water pistol.
Fearing he was throwing his life away, he made the decision to move to the States in a bid to turn his fortunes around.
Christian soon joined the National Bail Enforcers and Security Alliance of America and became the first UK citizen to get recruited as a bounty hunter in the USA.
“A lot of my past definitely helps because a lot of my job is being able to talk to people and somehow understand what they are going through at the time,” he said in a recent interview with The Courier.
Christian took his inspiration from the TV show Dog the Bounty Hunter, which follows the exploits of real-life bounty hunter Duane “Dog” Chapman, chasing down fugitives in the Hawaiian islands.
Christian later admitted the reality is somewhat different to what he had seen on the screen.
