Time to get all colourful again

Spring is the perfect time for a wardrobe update, time to leave the cosy darker hues of winter behind and embrace some beautiful patterns and for spring 2017, it’s all about colour. Statement stripes We aren’t just talking one subtly striped piece or accessory here – if you want to embrace stripes this spring you need to go for it with rainbow brights.

They can be any shape or size – think broad bands, short blocks or skinny lines and wear them on dresses, skirts, shirts and suits. Mega brights Embrace the coming sun with beautiful bright colour. Yellow was a big hit last year and looks set to stay top of the colour charts for 2017. Don’t despair if it really isn’t your colour, though, as there are plenty of beautiful blues and shocking pinks available to throw into the mix.

Top to toe floral There is a definite nod to the 70s for this spring ‘17 and nowhere more so than in the amazing floral collections that graced the runways and will hit the high street stores. Again, these patterns aren’t for the faint hearted. Wear a stunning maxi dress or go for a floral suit for maximum impact. 80s revisited If the 70s isn’t your bag, why not embrace the return to 80s glam. This look is definitely best kept to nights out but then you have carte blanche to go for it with dramatic ruffles, puffed sleeves and striking metallic finishes for the ultimate party outfit. Peek a boo shoulders Off the shoulder dresses and tops are everywhere this season. Go for more cutout and less fabric for a more daring approach. If you prefer to keep your shoulders covered, take a look at sleeve slits.
