Horses just as bad?
A regular reader has emailed Craigie to comment: “Not so long ago dog fouling of our streets, pavements and footpaths was commonplace and stepping on dog poo was an everyday occurrence. However, legislation and changed public attitudes have made this unacceptable and thankfully the problem has largely, although not totally, disappeared.
“But as anyone who lives on a rural road, or who walks country or forest paths, will know there is still a huge poo problem but the perpetrators are now mainly horses. It seems a strange anomaly that as dog owners increasingly find a sense of responsibility and pick up the poo horse riders completely ignore the disgusting mess left by their animals.
“Is it time for poo legislation to be extended to equines as well as canines?”
