A stunning venue steeped in history

-

If you are seeking the perfect venue for your wedding day, look no further than Glamis Castle, one of the most romantic destinations in Scotland.

Steeped in history, the castle boasts beautiful locations and settings for your ceremony, reception and wedding banquet. Meanwhile, the landmark and surrounding grounds will provide the most stunning backdrops for your photographs.

And if you want to see it for yourself, the castle is hosting a wedding showcase on Sunday March 19.

Running from 11am-4pm and spread over three levels, it will give couples a chance to meet exhibitors and see the stunning venue up close.

And the castle’s contract caterers Wild Thyme will be at the showcase so couples can find out more about food options.

Hospitality and service are a Glamis tradition. Above all, the aim is to make every individual wedding that extra bit special, ensuring the gathering weaves itself into the castle’s long history and equally that the castle’s history weaves itself into your special day.

With its soaring turrets, atmospheric rooms and remarkable gardens, it is a stunning wedding location.

Today, the castle looks more like a French chateau than a medieval fortress because it was extensively restored in the 17th and 18th Centuries.

As you and your guests make your way down the mile-long avenue to reach the building the sense of occasion will be immense and unforgettable.

Each wedding at Glamis is tailored to suit the couple’s every wish, the team working with them at every stage to create their perfect day. The castle can offer a full wedding package, or can be booked for either the ceremony or reception only.

You can choose how your big day will be – either a huge celebration or a more intimate affair. For example, the 16th Century Chambers can hold up to 45 people for a religious or civil ceremony.

With close connections to the Royal Family, Glamis Castle was the childhood home of Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (she being the youngest daughter of the 14th earl) and Princess Margaret was born there in 1930.

Glamis Castle can also offer private appointments for couples and would be delighted to discuss your requirements.
