ROCKTALK GIG GUIDE

-

I’m sure all you music heads will know already but for those who don’t, tickets for Dundee’s big festival Carnival 56, which takes place at Camperdown Park in August, go on sale today.

Clean Bandit, Mark Ronson and Rudimental have been announced as headliners this week alongside a host of great local acts, including Sinderins, Model Aeroplanes, the Law, Fat Goth, Be Charlotte, Billy Mitchell and Sahara.

It’s great news for Dundee and Charlotte Brimner from Be Charlotte summed up the feelings of everybody in the city with music in their hearts.

“Beyond buzzing to be playing the first ever Carnival 56 Festival in Dundee on August 13 alongside some of my favourite bands,” she said.

“I remember going to Radio 1’s big weekend in Camperdown Park when I was around 10 years old so it’s going to be very surreal to be playing a festival there this year.”

Look out for more from Charlotte on the party at Fat Sam’s next Friday in next week’s What’s On.

Back to the actual festival and there are five music areas with more than 100 acts performing over the weekend, with a complete mix of genres, so expect to see the likes of Prides, Elle Exxe, The Cuban Brothers, White, Sasha and James Zabiela perform over the weekend.

Pre-sale tickets are available from today from 9am to those who preregistered, while general sale are available from 9am on Monday.
