Driver who caused Fife crash was unfit to be behind the wheel
A man’s dangerous driving caused a crash with another vehicle, Dunfermline Sheriff Court heard.
Patrick Philbin, 24, of Green Road, Kinross, admitted that on May 21 in High Street, Cowdenbeath, and the A909 Cowdenbeath to Kelty road, he drove a van dangerously by swerving into the opposing carriageway and causing other road users to take evasive action.
He mounted the pavement, approached a corner at excessive speed, drove into the opposing carriageway and collided with another vehicle being driven by a female, whereby both vehicles were damaged and both he and the woman were injured. He also admitted driving while unfit to do so through drink or drugs.
Philbin will be sentenced on April 19.
